Audio Post-Production

From Picture Lock to Final Delivery.

Great audio post isn’t a collection of plug-ins. It’s hundreds of creative and technical decisions working together so the audience can stop thinking about sound and start experiencing the story.

The Full Workflow

One Story. One Cohesive Soundtrack.

A full audio-post workflow begins with the picture turnover. Sessions are organized, media is checked, editorial materials are reviewed and the project is prepared so every sound element has a clear place to live. Good organization at the beginning prevents technical problems from turning into creative distractions later—or from becoming one of those “quick fixes” that somehow consumes half a day.

Dialogue is then edited for clarity, continuity and performance. Production recordings are cleaned, matched and restored where needed, with room tone and perspective shaped so cuts feel natural rather than obvious. The goal is not to make dialogue sound processed; it is to make it feel like it was always supposed to sound that way—even if the refrigerator, traffic and wardrobe department had other plans.

From there, sound effects, backgrounds, designed elements and music are built around the picture. Every choice is made in context: sound design should support the story without burying the performance, music should reinforce emotion without fighting the dialogue, and transitions should help scenes move without announcing, “Hello, this is a transition.”

Once editorial is in place, the project moves into the final mix. Dialogue, music and effects are balanced for intelligibility, impact and dynamics, while EQ, automation, spatial placement and loudness are shaped for the intended destination. Client notes and revisions are incorporated before the final masters, stems and required delivery versions are prepared—ideally before anyone creates a file called FINAL_FINAL_v7_REALLYFINAL.wav.

MelonCollie Productions can handle the entire process or step in for a specific stage. Whether the project needs dialogue repair, sound design, music editing, a final mix or a complete end-to-end workflow, the goal is always the same: one cohesive soundtrack serving one story.
